Hello, it’s me Bad to the Blonde. Since we missed concerts and all the vibes of pool parties, and beach vacations [yet again], take crochet to the street for the rest of summer. There is still warm days ahead, and with that said, it’s forever festival season for the rest of the year.
Don’t put away the crochet
Think of the trend as a texture that you can wear with almost anything. Even in the winter, the chunky knit will remind you of warm weather. So don’t put away the crochet! Pull on an oversized men’s button up and layer with a crochet crop top for a date night outfit. You’ll send subtle hints for, say-maybe, surprise tickets to somewhere beachy. Or snag a sweater version for a sexy night in.
Dress it up with denim
If high-rise denim shorts aren’t your thing, pull on your favorite pair of jeans. The timeless trend pairs well with any fit – a chunky knit like this adds some flow to skin tight skinny jeans, or go straight that 70s show if your favorite is the flare. Crochet can even be country chic if worn with a denim dress, and not too-boho with western boots. As fall approaches, just let the weather tell you what to wear.
Vintage to vixen
Whether you DIY or don’t, I certainly don’t, the trend is open for interpretation. It can be worn modern, maximalist or minimalist. Even biker chic-ish. The less material, the more leather (the better)! The kitschy part got my attention. Any fabric that has versatility to be worn with any silhouette is seasonless. Don’t let this trend be the one that got crochet. Pun intended. [I am ridiculous.]
