Hello, it’s me Bad to the Blonde. The five things to make the favorites list this month cover what you need for the fluctuating spring weather and bringing tired skin back to life. If that sounds depressing, see the previous bikini blog – that’s your reminder that summer will be here before you know it. But for now, let’s get through spring with these everyday essentials.
The bestselling cowboy boot
The Dagget boot sold out last season so fast! The style is back in matte and metallic, prints and patterns. I have worn them on a weekly basis proving cowboy boots aren’t just for rodeos and Nashville bachelorette parties. I picked black for obvious “where with everything” reasons and can’t make up my mind on what color to get them in next. (Probably pink or red to fit the aesthetic.) You’ll love the craftsmanship, colors and the price. I own everything from Old Gringo Boots ($600+ price range) to Steve Madden ($100+ price range) in the cowboy boot category. You get what you pay for. Splurge here. A good pair of boots will last for seasons to come.
Microdermabrasion with no downtime
Cutting back on spending money on skincare is never easy nor in my anti-aging playbook. I swapped microneedling treatments for microdermabrasion at home and am still getting professional results. Good products still cost money so skip the drugstore and Target beauty aisle. Did you know your skin is the biggest organ in the body? Be careful what you want it absorbing…
This was my first time trying the Youth to the People brand. The mask doesn’t have beads like Neutrogena morning burst facial scrub and though I miss the scent, Youth to the People will give you clinical results that are cruelty free. I use it 1-2 times a week and instantly have 100% smoother skin and less white heads on my chin.
Say goodbye to tired eyes
Now to my friend Jess – girl, thank you, thank you, thank you, for getting me on the Tula team. I never tried the brand until this product that she raved about, and it is the first thing I use in my makeup routine…even though it’s technically skincare. I hate my under age area – loose skin, dark circles, and I am always tired. Concealer just feels so heavy and patchy to me. Your under eye area is the key to looking wide awake. This stick is a magic trick. Let’s just say I’ve never met an eye cream I haven’t liked.
Hunter boots
It’s time to swap your Ugg boots and Hunter boots. No matter where you live, you have to own both. I lived in Arizona for a decade and yes, it does rain there plus, sprinklers break at dog parks. Black tall hunter boots just go with any outfit. Like Ugg boots.
Dewy skin for spring
It will take a lot for this foundation to lose the top spot in beauty favorites. With a multitasking formula that includes skincare and SPF. It comes in matte and illuminating finishes, and I have both. Lately, my skin has looked so dull and try that I’ve been wanting the dewy look everyday. It is kinda crazy that just one pump can instantly change your skin and last all day. (I spent a decade as a motorsports reporter in snow, dirt and rain, and never had time for a touch up on TV. I should be the spokesmodel.) It blends with cream and powder blushes and bronzers. I won’t wear anything else. People are shocked when I tell them I’m 10 years older than they think…now that’s flawless looking coverage.
