Hello, it’s me Bad to the Blonde. Our everyday essentials sometimes need a trendy update. The five things to make the favorites list this month cover the kitchen to self tanner.
Ugg-sessed
Ugg boots are not just for winter. The ultra classic mini boot is perfect for spring and summer. Wear them to any sweat session. Swap for sneakers then wear them to brunch. The low design can be worn with shorts or leggings. You need this off duty model style wardrobe essential.
It’s always sunny
Sporty sunglasses are the latest trend. Even if you have two right hands. LOL! (Or is it left feet?) Go total 90s with white Oakley athletic frames or keep it chic with options from even luxury designers like Balenciaga. If the cycling style is too sporty, you can still get the look with polarized lenses. Shield sunglasses make a statement no matter the outfit. Shop for oversized shades from Quay if you’re on a budget.
Buff it real good
Applying makeup with a Beautyblender sponge never appealed to me…or felt very clean. My old brush was absorbing too much product, was too large, and not washing very well. The application for applying foundation like a pro really requires something from Mac. (The company was founded for makeup professionals and thank God they gave us access to the same products.) This best selling foundation brush will give you an airbrush effect pun intended. The dome shape allows for buffing and blending liquid foundation. It applies product more accurately and controlled with the small, compact bristles.
The good, the bad and the self tanner
Skin is your biggest organ. It absorbs every chemical you put on it. Instantly. Self tanner always scared me for this reason. I only trust Dr. Dennis Gross in this category. Wipe on self tanner and skincare benefits with the Alpha Beta Glow Pad. I wish it was more environmentally friendly, but there’s a downside to every product. This just happens to be the packaging but I am able to wipe out the inside of the wrapper for every last drop.
A quick kitchen makeover
One of the biggest home decor trends for 2022 is shades of brown and things that swivel! Wood furniture brings the outdoors in while maintaining a minimalist vibe. I am still sad I had to sell my blue velvet stools for food during my divorce but old things don’t work in new places anyway and my current kitchen isn’t white, or contemporary, either. The search for counter stools led me to this transitional design. And the complement to my white boucle couch.
