Self reflecting in sequins

Hello, it’s me Bad to the Blonde. Keep it casual this New Year’s in sequin metallic pants and a graphic tee outfit that is festive and fitting. The more casual, trending metallic option leaves room to add your style personality and attitude (because new year, new you, duh) while doing some self reflecting. A highlight this past year, was certainly quitting my short-lived corporate America job and starting the Bad to the Blonde clothing line full-time, which was the inspiration for this outfit. Dare to dream. I’m walking into the New Year wearing party pants.

Party pants outfit

There’s no such thing as too much sparkle on NYE. In honor of last year’s New Year’s style blog hitting 100K views on Pinterest recently, I put on party pants for this one and combined it with the graphic tee trend that is a look for any girls night out. Who said sequins is only for New Year’s?

Newton’s third law of motion states; “what goes up must come down.” Every year a newer, update to sequin silhouettes becomes the “what to wear”. (This is my third New Year’s style post – I probably should throw a party just to celebrate the consistency! Let’s consider this one just for fun.) From the sequin mini dress that is a style staple for the holiday, to the boxy sequin t-shirt blouse that shined last season, all eyes are on now on sparkly high waisted bell bottoms. Maybe next year the New Year’s Eve outfit trend will be all about sequin booties or pumps…then we can go back to the top.

New Year’s silver sparkly style

If New Year’s had a fabric it would be metallic sequin and that’s because it’s time to do some self reflection. (Silver disco ball not included but works as a great mirror and I highly recommend Lady Danger red lipstick from MAC for a pop of color.) Holiday party style is complete with accessories that shimmer and shine. Statement earrings have an art deco vibe to ring in 2020 with a return to the roaring 20s. At least we don’t need to worry about the prohibition. Cheers to that! Accessorize in similar shiny fashion from head to toe.

A flare on self reflecting

Year after year we try to save money, lose weight, eat healthier, blah blah blah. Break out and fire up in 2020 as the type of woman who would wear flare leg sequin pants on a Monday and a tee with a saying that says you mean business. I might be partial to the power of the words “bad to the blonde”. The woman who does not require validation from anyone has done her self reflecting. Remember, other’s opinions do not pay the bills.

As the saying goes, whatever happened over the past year, be thankful for where it brought you, where you are and where you are meant to be. Time spent in self reflection is never wasted.

We are just a ball drop away. You can’t see the future if you don’t take a look back into the past.
